Iranian ‘Retouch’ competing at North Bellarine filmfest

Iranian acclaimed short ‘Retouch’ is competing at the North Bellarine filmfest in Australia.

Iranian acclaimed short ‘Retouch’ has been competing at the 4th edition of the North Bellarine Film Festival (NBFF) in Australia.

Directed by Kaveh Mazaheri and produced by the Iranian Young Cinema Society, ‘Retouch’ is about a young woman whose husband dies before her eyes and she just observes the tragic scene.

The film has so far gone on screen at many international film festivals, including the Cyprus Film Festival, the Basta International Film Festival in Serbia, and the Orvieto Cinema Fest in Italy.

It has previously won Best Short Film awards at the Krakow International Film Festival, the Palm Springs International Film Festival, and the Tribeca Film Festival, all in the US.

‘Retouch’ has also grabbed the Best Fiction Film award at the Short Movie Club in Belarus, the Best International Short award at the Audi Dublin International Film Festival in Ireland, and the top prize for best short film as well as the audience choice award at the Ibn Arabi International Film Festival in Spain.

Some of its recent awards include best director award at the BangkokThai International Film Festival, Best Short Film Award at the Shnit Worldwide Short Film Festival in Switzerland, 2nd Best Film award from the Short Waves Festival in Poland, Shorts TV Award from the Mecal Pro short Film Festival in Spain, and Best Actress Award at the Sukhum International Film Festival in Abkhazia.

Among the latest achievements by ‘Retouch include Best Actress award at the Brussels Short Film Festival in Belgium, Best Film award at the SorsiCorti Short Film Festival in Italy, Best Actress award at the Gosh! Film Festival in France, Best Short Film award at the One-Shot Film Festival in Armenia, Special Jury award at the Santiago del Estero Film Festival in Argentina, Best Film award at the Veracruz Short Film Festival in Mexico, as well as Audience Choice, Best Screenplay and Best Film awards at the Wiz-Art International Short Film Festival in Ukraine.

The NBFF accepts films of any genre. This year’s edition of the event kicked off on November 13 and will wrap up on November 15.
